Daiichi 7131 Double Salmon Hooks

The double hook is a very traditional tactic for targeting salmon. The Daiichi 7131 captures all of this classic style of hook's flare by being forged, having a Limerick bend, and loop up-eye. The hook is made with one piece of wire that is essentially folded over itself and brazed together at the bend. While initially being designed for what would today be called an increased hook to land ratio, they really do still achieve that today. More hooks does make it harder for the fish to shake free. This hook is designed with heavy wire, so it will have increased strength and also sink faster which will allow you to fish deeper pools for the biggest fish. Also, the double-hook design is said to be good balancing patterns in the waterbecause the two hooks bend at 90 degrees from each other. Remember, many fisheries have banned multi-hook flies so only use these hooks where it is legal to.

Uses: Double-hooked Salmon flies.

Example flies: Black Hair Green Butt, Ally's Shrimp Swing it Back, The General Practitioner
